Elica Balla (1914 - 1993). She was the author of a precious biographical book about Balla, published in three volumes between 1984 and 1986. In her memoirs Elica narrates episodes related to the time of the Nazi occupation of Rome, such as that of 23 March 1944, when the young artist was a few blocks away from via Rasella where the bomb that hit the convoy of the German occupation forces exploded. The beautiful and talented daughter of the futurist master had a sensitivity and an approach to clear and aerial life, similar to the subject that more than any other loved to paint, the sky.
