Biography

Jim ter Kuile is a contemporary artist born in Enschede, Holland.
After finishing his studies there, he moved to London to study at London School of Foreign Trade. While staying in England's capital, he also satisfied his passion for art history at the Morly College (University of London).
His style is based on commission paintings of the 18th and 19th century which he is combining with Pop-Art characteristics like flashy colours, structures and plain colour applications. All of his artwork was carefully studied in original environments. The classic portraits of the higher nobility and their castles are an essential interest forJim ter Kuile. The alienation effect of the commission paintings contrasts the time distance of the artworks, and at the same time shows a new form of expression. Each of Jim ter Kuile’s paintings is an exclusive single piece of high quality.
