Through ghost-like double-sided painting, Reeha reinforces by blurring the thresholds across space, between objects, and from within sensory perceptions.
Biography
Reeha Lim lives and works in New Haven, CT. Raised Korean in China, and currently living in the Midwestern US, Reeha's practice has been deeply influenced by diasporic memories. She explores ambiguities inherent in what is often taken for granted as an out-focusing on possibilities, an independence from one's common sense, and as facing the heavy, bare face of another, primarily in the realm of painting.
Lim is currently participating in the NXTHVN residency in New Haven, CT. She has previously shown with Chilli Art Projects, London; Gallery H, Seoul; Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris & Xin Complex Cultural Space, Shenyang. She graduated in 2021 with a BFA in Painting from Hong-ik University, South Korea & in 2024 with her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills as a Fulbright Scholar.
