Frank Worth was an American photographer, born in New York in 1923 and died in 2000, he was known to rub shoulders and photograph several Hollywood actors and actresses between 1939 and 1964.
He became interested in photography in high school then moved to Hollywood, he was hired to take pictures of movie stars and began working for himself quickly. He became friends with Rudy Vallee and his wife who lodged him and introduced him to one of the major stars those days.

Franck Worth rubbed shoulders and took photos of stars like James Dean, Marilyn Monroe (with whom he had an affair, confirmed after his death), Frank Sinatra, James Cagney and Pat O'Brien. These friendships allowed him to be present at the right time and the right place and he took unique photos of these stars. He was allowed on movie sets of major movies like Rebel without a cause or The Seven Year Itch and filmed the first wedding of Elizabeth Taylor.
He was also a sports photographer and became the first official photographer of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

His black and white snapshots are unusual for this period, as most of the stars were used to neat taken pictures in studios.

He slowly gave up photography and sunk into poverty, refusing to publish the photos of stars who were his friends before. He conserved a lot of photos and these were discovered after his death, when his cousin became the curator of his work and unveiled these unknown pictures.

His work was exhibited during major exhibitions, especially in London in 2002 which was described as "the most extraordinary collection of this genre in the last 50 years" by the famous Auction House, Christies.
