Description
This photographic series, set in a natural environment, invites us to observe these creatures with care. The artist, Virginie Paoli, immersed herself in this territory, photographing an animal species as if they were wild apparitions from another world. She photographs as if playing with the elements of the image, much like in a painting. Everything is felt: a breath, an intimacy, an animal scent, directly connected to the space we give it. This photographic series bears witness to another time, a time that comes alive as soon as day breaks. The animals are awake. Calm reigns, a feeling of serenity emanates from this series, where we savor these last moments, poised between the delicate balance of the animal heart and civilization, which so often remains incompatible.

Virginie Paoli, a multidisciplinary artist between Paris and Quebec, uses photography and collage to explore territory. She won the photography award in 2024.
