Biography
Olivier Morin has been a photojournalist at Agence France-Presse since 1990.
Born in France in 1965, Olivier was based in Bordeaux, Lille, Paris where he photographed mainly international sports, head of photography for Eastern France based in Strasbourg, before becoming Head of Photo for the Nordic countries in Stockholm and spending six years at AFP in Milan, Italy.
From 2016 to 2021, he was editor-in-chief of Photo France based in Paris in charge of editorial photo coverage for France and the world at certain times.
Back in the field, based in Scandinavia since January 2022, in charge of photographing and coordinating global coverage of the future of the planet, the impacts and solutions concerning the impacts of climate change on biodiversity and civilizations.
He has covered many current events, conflicts, fashion, sports mainly.
He has photographed 12 Olympic Games, both Summer and Winter, and has regularly covered international football and rugby, the World Athletics Championships, World Cups and the Alpine Skiing World Championships.
Olivier was awarded first prize in the Fuji 2000 photo contest for an archery photo from the Sydney Olympics, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the Sportfolio in 2013 and 2015, and won Italian Sports Photo of the Year in 2013 for a photo of Usain Bolt under lightning during the 100m final at the World Championships in Moscow, and Sports Illustrated and New York Times Photo of the Year, with this photo, among other awards.
