Miils

Miils is a multidisciplinary visual artist born in 1995 in Togo, West Africa. He currently lives and works in France. His background, marked by dialogue between several cultures, informs an artistic practice rooted in questions of identity and memory in the era of globalization.

His work blends painting, stenciling, paper cutting, textures, and experimental processes. For several years, he has also incorporated natural elements into his creative process, notably sunlight and time, which he considers true co-creators of the artwork. Some pieces require dozens of hours of exposure, allowing the material to slowly transform under the influence of light.

At the crossroads of Africa and the Western world, Miils' universe draws as much from ancestral memories as from a contemporary visual language. His works, both organic and structured, explore the balance between control and letting go, between human gesture and natural forces.

Conceived as a multidisciplinary language, his work can be expressed on different media — canvases, installations, walls, textiles and objects — while maintaining a strong and consistent visual identity.
