This dazzling work captures the vibrant, dynamic energy of a passionate dance. The figures, sketched with chromatic boldness, stand out against a swirling background of incandescent yellows and reds. The figures, with their deliberately distorted, skeletal outlines, evoke both fragility and movement, creating a striking contrast with the warm colors that surround them. The imposing texture of the brushstrokes asserts a raw, almost wild expressiveness. The artist, through his bold application of paint, succeeds in conveying an emotional intensity, transforming each gesture into a silent yet powerful dialogue. The absence of facial details reinforces the universality of the scene, allowing the observer to project themselves into this timeless dance. This painting is not simply a representation; it is an invitation to feel the fusion of human and artistic energy.
Sergei Poljinsky, born May 9, 1952 in Nice, is a French painter, director and screenwriter of Russian origin.
Coming from a family of artists, he trained at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where in his third year, he was selected by Salvador Dalí to follow his private teaching at the Hôtel Meurice in Paris.
This privileged relationship led him to become the Master's student and stay in CADAQUES with him and his wife Gala.
FOR CINEMA, Poljinsky has directed numerous feature films, several remarkable and award-winning works such as "LE FUNAMBULE" in 1974, performed by PIERRE ARDITI and awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Hyères Festival in 1975, is considered by Poljinsky to be part of the NEO-SURREALIST movement.
Just as much as the feature film "QUIET DAY" starring ĹENY ESCUDERO, made in 2002.
In 2025 a NEO-SURREALIST scenario is being written.
In Poljinsky's work, painting and cinema are closely linked, which sets this exceptional artist apart, giving additional power of expression to the Neo-Surrealism movement.
Alongside his film career, Poljinsky developed a pictorial oeuvre, initially influenced by his mentor Salvador Dalí with Surrealism.
Developing a national and international career with numerous exhibitions abroad, in 2017, Poljinsky decided to found the SERGEI POLJINSKY LIVING MUSEUM, thus fulfilling DALI's advice, who believed that an artist should have his own Museum.
Sergei Poljinsky created the ONIRIK ABSTRACTION technique in 2023, a unique fusion of abstract forms and dreamlike visions. This method captures the essence of dreams while leaving ample room for the viewer's subjective interpretation.
In 2023, Poljinsky founded the Neo-Surrealist movement, a modern reinterpretation of surrealism adapted to the contemporary world. This movement aims to reconnect art with human concerns, blending imagination, technology, and spirituality.
