Alexis Peterson

“I am Alexis Peterson, born in Port-au-Prince on September 22, 1988. I am an art brut artist, and I am part of the group of artists New vision.

I work on voodoo because it is the culture of my country and my work is based on mystery. I feel very proud to be an art brut artist and I started working since February 2011. It was not easy to start but looking at artists like Guyodo and others, it gave me the impetus to become an artist. My first work of art was inspired by Danmbala: it was a great start for me to paint it with passion and love, that's why all my works of art come from the history of Haitian voodoo.

In 2016 I had the chance to participate in a New Vision exhibition organized by Pierre-Paul Lesly. It was a great moment in my life as an artist. Art is my passion, my life and I feel very comfortable being an art brut artist. "
