Biography
Júlio Pomar is a Portuguese painter born in Lisbon on 10 January 1926. He studied painting in Lisbon and at the Porto Academy of Fine Arts. In Porto Pomar became part of a group of other fellow artists called Independents.
From 1945 to 1957 Júlio Pomar joined the neo-realist movement, and painted some of the most famous images of the current. He latter started to paint in a style close to neo-expressionism.
