This floral work of hand-cut papers, enhanced with watercolor shades of blue and bright yellow, contrasts beautifully with the pure white background. The central circle of recycled handmade paper delicately adorned with cornflower petals from Papiers de La Grange, evokes perfection and infinity, while the organic texture and natural elements give a tactile and vibrant dimension to the whole. This traditional art, which requires dexterity, concentration and patience, can be perceived as passages of air and transparency.
Like an engraver, she works with shadows and subtracts material to form a unique work. The controlled movement of the blade brings in the light and the paper lace comes to life.
Recently, the artist has been experimenting with sculpted volume around a light source to play with the texture of the paper.
