Description
“The garden of olive trees” is a unique piece by Anne Oléron. Anne delicately cuts the paper by hand with a scalpel. The foliage of the olive tree in the foreground offers a play of openings or just liftings. Pastel work offers a slight change between color and texture. Light filters and casts shadows on this work, gently forming new life, new movement and new dimension. As if animated by the blowing of the wind, the eye moves around the work. This paper lace is sold in a plexiglass frame to hang or place. The artist's initials cut into the paper are at the bottom right.
Presentation
Anne Oléron works on hand-cut paper with a scalpel.
This traditional art, which requires dexterity, concentration and patience, can be perceived as passages of air and transparency.
Like an engraver, she works with shadows and subtracts material to form a unique work. The controlled movement of the blade brings in the light and the paper lace comes to life.
Recently, the artist has been experimenting with sculpted volume around a light source to play with the texture of the paper.
