Our advice for framing drawings

A drawing on paper, made using charcoal, pastel, or graphite, is very often framed under glass. To prevent the drawing's surface (which is very fragile) from touching the glass directly, you should place a passe-partout or a Marie-Louise between them.

If the drawing offers a beautiful perspective, a frame in a landscape format is recommended to give the perspective even more depth. Nevertheless, to avoid distracting from the fine lines that make up a drawing, it is recommended to avoid frames that are too heavy or with excessive mouldings. Minimal, small frames —black, white, or in natural wood—are best.
