Presentation

Daniel Barroso is a Swiss-Argentinian artist.

He started his artistic training at his father's workshop in Mendoza, Argentina, and then after a trip to Cordoba, he went to Rome at first and then to Paris where he finished his studies in philosophy and wrote a thesis about Jérôme Bosch.

Having lived and worked in numerous countries of Latin America and Europe, a variety of cultural backgrounds influences his work, such as the expressive force of latin American painting, French and German impressionism, between abstraction and figuration.

Color is essential in his work and become form and content at he same time, prefering pure and primary colors with mixtures of subtle shading. He creates figurative paintings where the main subject is the human being and its wide variety of emotions, from emotions to ecstasy, from pain to love. For his more abstract pieces, he follows his subconscious to define the rhythm and the traces, combining the colors in a style similar to "action painting".

His work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions in Paris, Switzerland and Madrid. Some of his painting can be found in private collection on both sides of the Atlantic.
