Maurice Louis

Maurice Louis is a Franco-Canadian artist born in 1958 in Trouville sur Mer in Normandy. Growing up in an artistic environment, he developed a taste for art since an early age. He gradually discovered his passion for painting, particularly for abstract art. At the age of 18, he moved to Paris and created a company of specialized services for the big names of fashion, cinema and art.

Thanks to the privileged relations that he kept with artists, he made himself a name among a prestigious group of customers such as Productions Films 13, owned by Claude Lelouch and Adel Productions belonging to Alain Delon. he worked as well setting up sets, organizing and presenting shows, attracting this way personalities from the world of high fashion such as Chanel, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Hermès, Oscar de la Renta and numerous Parisian art galleries. He took advantage of this opportunity and presented his paintings in multiple exhibitions in France during the beginnings of the 2000s.

During a trip to Quebec, he fell in love with the architecture and the natural setting of old Quebec, which reminded him of his native Normandy. He was particularly fascinated with Lake Beauport, located in the suburbs of Quebec and decided to moved there with his wife and kids in 2005. In December 2009, he became Canadian.

In 2014, he restarted doing exhibitions and was immediately noticed. From November 20, 2014 to January 20, 2015, he did a solo exhibition called "Abstract Variations" in Stoneham, in which some of his pieces quckly found buyers. The public discovered his new style which the artist called "Bronzai" and "Metali-K". "Artistic Metallurgism" was born and Maurice Louis was its initiator. By the end of January 2015, he received the New Visual Arts Movement Award after his discovery of "Artistic Metallurgism", which opened many doors for the artist.
