Philippe Garnier de la Baudinière

France Born in: 1959
Philippe Garnier de la Baudinière is a French painter, born in 1959. Originally from Blois, he moved to Paris and worked as a decorator. He rubbed shoulders with painters, visited museums and his encounter with Bernard Lorjou, leader of Val de Loire School 1974 onward, were the basis of his artistic knowledge.

Philippe Garnier de la Baudinière liberated himself from all kinds of influences and theories, his work is in the same lines as geometric abstraction. One understands the artist's work at once, as there's a clear relationship between form and color, which creates a strong visual aspect, based on dialogue of chromatic mass.

The painter leans on several techniques, oil on canvas, lino cutting, collages like monochromes on hard cardboard, aiding his creations. Even if he knows a lot about art history, his vision, perceptions and inner journeys are his only source of influence.

He has participated in several exhibitions in Calais, Touquet, Morbihan, Paris and Circé gallery in Lille but also Château d'Hardelot. Some of his work is also part of collections in Portugal, Monaco, USA and Germany.
