Didier Limbourg

Didier Limbourg is an artist who lives and works in a small village in the French Ardennes. He divides his time between his profession as a clinical psychologist and oil painting which he has been practicing since his adolescence. He alternates figuration and expressionism to the limits of abstraction by creating transitional spaces where he explores "feed back" created by the fortuitous encounter of an idea, its impulse and the materialization of this idea in time and time. 'space. His work proceeds from a writing, a construction, a translation into a sensitive artistic language of the emotions provided to him by the simplest elements of our environment; substrate that he stages with power and intensity. Working without a model, referring to the amnesic construction of the image, he thus leaves a large part to the emotional fields that he expresses in a disturbing creative process, which translates with mastery and sensitivity the inexpressible part of each thing. We can distinguish in him influences of Cézanne, Matisse in the constructions, the daring layouts and the retreat of the limits of the figuration, but we could also quote Bonnard and the Fauves for the astonishing richness of the palette, the creaminess and density of matter. The artist has already exhibited in galleries in Belgium and in France. He is permanently at the Stackl'R Gallery and appears in private collections in France, Belgium and Germany.
