Henri Souillard was born on December 26, 1948 in Saint Brieuc. From an early age, he draws and paints. He also plays music as a guitarist with various quality variété and jazz bands.
On the occasion of his first exhibition in 1985, Henri Souillard won the first prize for painting. Then he received a special mention in Lisieux, an honorable mention in Aix en Provence, a silver medal in Deauville. He also produced sculptures and got the Arles Excellence Award and the second prize for abstraction at the Deauville International Competition.
In 1987 he abandons sculpture in favor of painting and he receives the silver medal in Arles. In 1988 he receives the medal of the National Federation of French Culture in Deauville. In1989, Henri Souillard is awarded the silver medal in Aix en Provence, and a gold medal in Marseilles... He receives prize after prize and his canvases are incredibly successful.
