Her abstract paintings are meaning and dynamic, her colours are cheerful and blazing. Every painting sounds a musical score, the one that the artist listened to for hours, before and during its realization, because Sophie is a synaesthete, like Wassily Kandinsky or Arthur Rimbaud, for instance. This rare neurological phenomenon connects two senses. Here music - necessary for the artist’s creative process - is transformed into colour.
Sophie Chir collides her colours, hence the name "Colliding" that she has given to her paintings, but not only, because every painting is also the reflection because every painting is also the reflection of what lives the artist : a time, a mood, whom she lets speak through the sensorial experience of the music and the color.
