Born in 1992 - France
Lady Jday, her real name is Juliette Delorme, is a French painter, born on 18th September 1992 in Paris.
Since her childhood, she has been immersed in art and culture, and quickly feels the need to express herself through creation, mainly drawing.
After her high school diploma in literature with an option in plastic arts, she joins the Fine Arts school in Bordeaux, she decides leave and follow her own artistic path, therefore draws inspiration from her travels, reading or encounters.
Lady Jday finds her inspiration from artists like Guerrilla Girls, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Erro, Keith Harring and Michel Majerus.
Inspired by the street, as she considers it as a place for action, life and encounters, she naturally has a passion for street art and its key artists like Basquiat, Banksy, Speedy Graphito and Jef Aérosol. According to her, painting, graffiti, putting posters on street is a way to raise awareness with passers-by, a way to communicate, share and trigger reflection.
In order to create her works, Lady Jday mainly uses acrylic paint, ink, posca, sprays and collage. For the colors, brightness comes along through: red, pink, yellow and blue and they are present everywhere, but are contrasted with dark colors especially black. She mainly paints women and pays tribute to them as they feel free, committed, strong, filled with humanity, passionate, and enraged in order to convince.
She wants us to feel these equality values but also humanity, strength and her strong commitment towards women through her painting.
