Bénédicte Henicz

Benedicte Henicz is a French sculptor artist who lives and works in Lyon. She was born in the Lorraine region in the 60's, from an originally Slave Father, designer, master, a painter in his time and a mother who was originally from the Lorraine region with an ironwork art background.

She became a professional dancer at 17, at the Opéra de Nancy. Just when she renewed her interest in modeling, Benedicte Henicz met a sculptor who was slowly losing the use of his hands. She helped him in his work shop by sawing, gluing structures and did a choreography in which she danced with his sculptures. She left for Paris and acquired a lot of experience in dance, theater, singing and decided to take up a training in sculpture.

Benedicte Henicz worked and studied in several workshops and academies but her encounter with Alberto Carlisky, the sculptor who had worked with Zadkine, marked a significant milestone. She devoted herself to sculpture and since then has created her own workshop in Lyon.
