Biography
Jocelyne Clémente is a painter, born in France in 1959. Graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Saint Etienne, Jocelyne Clémente still lives and works there around her favorite theme: landscapes. Her themes are absolutely traditional and conventional. Often blamed at the beginning of the 20th century by several avant-gardist groups, the landscape motives are denounced. Nonetheless, 1980's onwards, some photography practices offered to renew this genre. Jocelyne Clémente is precise and meticulous with her work. Indeed she offers innovative framing and manages to capture light at the heart of her painting. Jocelyne Clémente's landscapes wants to renew the physical aspect of the genre. Her works are both familiar and extraordinary with their wonderful play on light. The paintings of the artist captures almost private, ephemeral moments. They assume the presence of a concealed danger. Jocelyne Clémente is an expert with vacant spaces like the ones from the Golden Age in Netherlands, though image in her work doesn't reflect the same situation.
