Sabine Courtilles is a sculptor, born in 1967. She lives and works in Paris.
After having studied drawing at the Grande Chaumiere of Paris, she studied at the School of Fine Arts where she practiced sculpturing besides Maurizio Toffoletti and Arnaud Kasper.
Particularly attracted by raw and chiseled material and the easiness to handle this kind of material, she works almost exclusively on the subject of the female body. She uses at first, stone, wood, wax and soil in order to create a bronze figure later on. However the monumental pieces, she creates on demand, are made of steel painted with colors and bronze.
Sabine Courtilles would like to democratize art, making it more accessible, she works with many companies in order to be able to expose in their premises.
