Presentation

Born in 1958, Philippe Fabian is a French painter, photographer and videographer. He lives and works in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

He studied engraving and lithography at the CREAR Institute, near Chantilly. The artist performs a regular and meticulous work. He takes pictures every day and creates a photographic journal and he selects only one image per day. This impressive number of photographs allows him to always have a stock of images used to create his works, he uses this stock of images as an important tool for reflection as well.

Particularly influenced by the world of cinema, many of its features are reflected in his works, such as his use of perspective, light and even his framing. He creates an exchange between genres and techniques, since the artist paints with oil or acrylic on his photographs in order to make "photo-paintings".
Some of the topics he prefers are urban, peri-urban, and natural landscapes, often lacking any human presence in order to highlight space and colors. He uses a digital process for this, which allows a chromatic saturation of color.

All this technology and this creative process allows him to create beauty out of any ordinary landscape.
