Born in 1981, Mohamed Kahouadji is a self-taught multi-disciplanary French artist.
Mohamed Kahouadji did medical studies but embarked on an artistic career in comic books, graffiti, then painting and sculpture.
He became well known due to social networks, on which he published his first animal drawings, a monkey with a gun and a giant banana for example. In 2008, the artist began drawing groups of animals before getting interested in making their portraits in small square format. Through his portraits, he's able to convey meaningful and simple messages like helping people. He tries to fight against symbolic violence through art.
Mohamed Kahouadji redesigns animal portrait, which is traditionally considered to be poor art in the field of painting. Color occupies an important place, which is in keeping with a specific seminology, the titles are given according to series and the order, along with naive, biblical or mythological symbols.
The artist is interested in all forms of countercultures or "subculture", which explains his multidisciplinary nature.
Mohamed Kahoudji exhibited at the Salon de Montrouge in 2013 and received the Kristal prize and also exhibited at the Detais Gallery.
