STASYS EIDRIGEVICIUS (born in 1949)
A Lithuanian painter, illustrator and graphic artist. He studied at the Fine Arts Institute in Vilnius. Since 1980 he has lived and worked in Poland. He creates exlibrises, book illustrations, posters and other. His art is has gained recognition in Poland and abroad. Since 1985 a significant part of his art constitute pastel painting. In the 90s he returned to oil painting. His art is situated on the borderline of metaphor, surrealism and fantasy. Works by Stasys Eidrigevicius are to be found in many private and public collections, including National Museum in Warsaw, British Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Library in Washington, Vatican Museums in Rome and Creation Callery in Tokyo. In 2010 he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
