Leopold Rabus was enrolled in the Ecole de Meuron à Neuchâtel, Switzerland, between 1993 and 1994. A year later he went to the Art School in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In 2000 he is accepted at the Cité des Arts in Paris.
Léopold Rabus grew up in a family of artists in which a parodic and quircky surrealism was transmitted from generation to generation. In the spirit of a deep and pretentious psychology, Leopold Rabus makes humor and irony his main points of interest. The artist has fun and reinterprets skillfully traditional scenes and chooses the trinket as a support; he hijacks them and creates new, unique and impertinent works.
Present in many international contemporary art fairs and in private and public collections, Léopold Rabus is definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
