Michael Gleyzer

Michel Gleyzer is an Ukrainian artist, currently living in New York. He began to paint from an early age and studied in one of the best art schools in St Petersburg, Russia, where excellent teachers opened to his eyes the Art world.

The artist work with different techniques such as oil painting, watercolors, graphic, costume design... and different themes: romantic, lyric, religious... He used to work in the main academic theater of Ukraine and created costumes and decors for over 35 different countries.

When one asks him about his artistic philosophy, the artist answers:

"I paint with my heart and with all of my heart. The leading idea of my work is the capture of feelings, persons, their souls and spirits. I work with what surrounds me, whether it is a scene of life, a face or a composition. A detail can become the main subject of my work. What was a simple inspiration can become a devouring passion for days.

I wish the audience can feel the feelings of my characters as I paint them as I see and feel everything around me, humbly: naive, funny, mad, sad, tragic, romantic... all my characters are real and I love them as a part of my soul lives in them."

In the current Art world, Michael Gleyzer breaks away by its individuality, linked to classic traditions nevertheless freed from mainstream trends, with his great artistic culture.

His paintings are owned by private collectors in Russia, Ukraine, Australia... He participated in several individual and collective exhibitions in galleries and museums in the United States and abroad.
