Biography
Coming from a family of Andean potters, Lifonzo started manufacturing ceramic pieces in early childhood. He decided to follow an artistic career as a boy and went on to obtain a degree in Fine Arts from the Public University of El Alto.
He started exhibiting his pieces before graduating and has since then participated in multiple national and international art contests, obtaining several awards and honorable mentions.
Early in his career, he identified watercolor as his medium of choice. His subtle brush work and colorful approach, without abandoning traditional themes, have helped him establish a very personal style that departs in many ways from the traditional Bolivian watercolor school, mostly dominated by less contrast in colors and shadows.
Today, Lifonzo has positioned himself as one of the most promising Bolivian watercolorists and is rapidly claiming a place with the most interesting Latin American watercolorists.
