Biography
Marie Houset has studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tournai during 5 years in the drawing department and 3 years in the painting department.
She is also a graduate of the Royal Academy of Belgium.
Marie Houset has received the teaching of Jean-Louis Pion, Belgian surrealist and student of Delvaux, who conveyed to him the taste of pastel and charcoal.
Living in the island of Yeu, his work often has a close relationship with the sea. She begins by processing the fish heads in big plans and then has expanded its themes to the manoeuvres, to the lives of ports, lighthouses and details of accastillages. Its color associations sign his work.
She used the pastel and acrylic and liked the attaching parallel of a same subject treaty in both techniques. By working the funds using collages and paint, it multiplies the combinations to highlight the marine universe.
