Biography

Garance Matton is an artist born in 1992 in Paris.

After studying for a while at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles in 2014, she finished her apprenticeship at the Beaux-Arts de Paris from which she graduated in 2017. She regularly participates in group exhibitions: Félicità 2018 (Palais des Beaux-Arts de Paris), La Villa (Villa Belleville) or 100% L'Expo (Grande Halle de la Villette) and recently a duo show THE STUDIO / Merci Matisse! at Tajan.

In 2019, she presents her first solo exhibition: Parade, at the Galerie Le Feuvre et Roze in Paris. Since 2020, she has been based at the Poush Manifesto incubator.

In an interview for the magazine Point Contemporain (May 2019), she explains her artistic approach, specifying that the question of the representation of space has become omnipresent in her work, combining cavalier perspective and linear perspective, or even no perspective at all. In these paintings, we find a mosaic of fragments of works from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century.
