Biography

American street artist and graphic designer Jedrek Speer, aka Seizer One, is best known for his murals and installations. Known also as the King of abandoned billboards, his signature artwork is the black and white image of his face. For the last twenty years, he has been an active member of the street art movement in the Los Angeles Area. Seizer has purposely added the word One to his name so that if ever there is an artist with a similar name, everybody will know he is the original. The artist has worked on numerous projects for big companies, such as designs for Glissade Snowboards, Kirkwood Ski Resort, and Joystick clothing and is currently employed as a Creative Director at NEFF Headwear.

Seizer One studied film at UC Santa Cruz in California. Early on, he became interested in graffiti and murals. However, over time he has limited his artistic expression to posters “"Yet even after 20 years working in the industry, he does not see his work as art but as more of a social experiment. Seizer said:

When the artist decided in 2004 to make a living from his creativity, he successfully entered the world of the contemporary apparel industry. He has worked on ad campaigns, Consulting, Guerrilla Marketing campaigns, and as an Art director. One of the projects he is most proud of was a poster for Sonic Youth.

During the pandemic and mandatory isolation when nothing was happening, Seizer began receiving numerous commissions for murals. Thus during the darkest time, he often worked on the streets of Chico, a city in California. One of his works was the mural for the Boys and Girls Club in the town of Paradise. Also, he was contacted by Catalyst Domestic Violence Services to create a mural outside their offices. Featuring only four words – respect, love, support, and safety, it is an art piece that the artist is most proud of. The inspiration for this work came from the 1990s rave culture. About the work he did during these turbulent years, Seizer said:
