Biography

Toulouse by adoption, Maxime Piccoli is a self-taught artist. His realistic sculptures are mainly composed of white sandstone evoking stone. For his first exhibition, he was inspired by anatomical drawing as well as classical sculpture in order to create a series of “cut-offset” works. The perception of works changes depending on where the viewer is when he looks at them. With humor, the artist tries to answer the surprisingly innovative question: “What is there, ultimately, inside a work of art? We will then realize that art, man, and even animal, are not so different.
