Description
This striking artwork depicts a sculpture in two halves, merging an ape head with an ape-like skull. Made of terracotta, the juxtaposition between the living complexity of the ape's face and the austerity of the skull creates a powerful contrast. The model rests stably on a wooden base, accentuating the bipartite nature of the work. The piece explores the duality of life and death, offering a profound reflection on evolution and our connection with the animal kingdom. Each sculpted detail is precisely executed, bringing to life a realistic texture that draws the eye. The sharp break in the center of the head reinforces the tension between the states of being. It is a work that not only captures attention but also incites contemplation on the origin and destiny of living species.

The perception of works changes depending on where the viewer is when he looks at them. With humor, the artist tries to answer the surprisingly innovative question: “What is there, ultimately, inside a work of art? We will then realize that art, man, and even animal, are not so different. The mystery of the soul remains however, and it is this mystery, born of the gap between science and art, which makes all the singularity of this series ...
