Biography
Lucien Vignolle, born in Roubaix in 1934, lives and works in Croix (59).
An advertising designer by profession (trained in advertising at the Beaux-Arts in Roubaix), he created a department for the manufacture of polyester advertising panels in a local company. In 1986, he founded his own company, designing and manufacturing POS materials, which he sold in 1996.
Free from any constraints, he then devoted himself to artistic creation (watercolor, painting, drawing, live model). After several years of figurative painting, he moved on to abstraction, adept at Action painting, favoring materials, collages and including original calligraphy, documents from the past, brought back from numerous trips around the world. This subtle assembly is worked in constant opposition to a resolutely modern painting.
A great admirer of César and Arman, he also creates compressions and accumulations in plexiglass.
Has participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions in the region and in Paris.
Vice-President of the Society of Roubaix Artists since 2003.
Promoted to Knight of the National Order of Merit in 1982.
