Katrin Fridriks is a conceptual painter born in 1974 in Iceland. She currently lives and works in Luxembourg.
Katrin Fridriks admires Jackson Pollock, as well as American architect John Portman and the French art critic Pierre Restany.
The artist likes to work on social issues such as the unceasing flow of information to which individuals are subjected, the exhaustion of natural resources, the impact of human activity on the planet, but also the genetic code. Katrin Fridriks likes painting large sized canvases. A follower of dripping, she tries to play with material in order to give a certain depth to her paintings.
