Description
A recurring character in his work, the Indian represents for Barthélémy Grossmann the exception, the difference in an era which is becoming more and more homogenous. It is the symbol of the connection to nature, the only possible outcome for the well-being of humanity. With his Indians, the artist wishes to remind everyone of the warrior within them, by keeping their values, their integrity and respect for those around them, in order to successfully lead their life and career. Ultimately, his desire is to introduce his Indians into homes around the world to give their inhabitants strength and courage.
Presentation
Barthélémy Grossmann was born in Geneva in 1981.
At the age of 15 he has left shool and went to Pariswith the objective of studying cinematography.
Working today between Los Angeles, Paris and Geneva as screenwriter, director and actor, his work in art is a continuation of his cinematographic work which evolves around the themes of social rise, money, success. His pictorial and illustrative works reflect his experiences and his views on modern world. His firm artistic choices, transcribe vividly his emotions.
The guide line of his work revolves around the capitalist world. He constantly poses questions about society, how to lead a better life, and questions about topics such as success and happiness.
