He is an Italian fine art photographer who works exclusively in black and white, using vintage and homemade cameras. He makes his silver gelatin prints by hand using traditional darkroom techniques.
I'm Francesco Mussida, an Italian fine art photographer and darkroom fine art printer working exclusively with black and white analog processes.
My studio is based in Abruzzo (Italy), I work with vintage cameras, film, and silver gelatin paper.
My main focus is the relationship between humans and the plant world, explored through posture, gesture, and the emotional qualities of form. I aim to reveal not only what nature looks like, but how it feels.
I choose to photograph analog to preserve the natural distance between observer and subject. In a world dominated by speed and control, I value variables: time, light, movements and the imperfections they bring.
