Jean-Pierre Petit was born in 1949 in Saint Brieuc. He met Louis Guilloux in 1961, who encouraged him to continue in his artistic vocation. He studied in the studio of Alain Beraud while he studied at the School of Fine Arts of Brest where he obtained a national degree in painting in 1971. After he met sculptor Jean Dewasne, he inaugurated his first exhibition in the beginning of the 70s. He then became a graphic designer, and artistic director of communication agencies and created his own agency in St Brieuc in 1985. In the beginning of the 2000s, he focused in graphic design and visual arts and worked for several architecture agencies and publishing houses.
