Architecture is structure. The panther is instinct. My work lives in the tension between them.

Biography

Mariah Birsak is a contemporary Dutch artist working at the intersection of architectural painting and figurative art. She is known for her contemporary architectural paintings featuring the recurring presence of the panther.

Her work combines structured interior architecture with animal symbolism, positioning her practice within contemporary figurative art. Through controlled geometry and deliberate color composition, she creates architectural paintings where instinctive presence exists within constructed space.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas and acrylic on linen, Birsak develops large-scale and medium-scale contemporary paintings that integrate naturally into minimalist and modern interiors.

Animals, particularly the panther, appear not as narrative subjects, but as symbolic embodiments of quiet strength within architectural environments.

Her practice contributes to contemporary architectural painting while maintaining a strong foundation in figurative art and animal representation.
