France • 1970
Presentation
Cyril Destrade was born on March 25, 1970 in Paris. Upon leaving the Olivier de Serres School, where he obtained a higher diploma in applied arts, specialization: communication image, and the Boulle School, Cyril Destrade first collaborated with prestigious image communication agencies branding and visual identities in Paris, Madrid and London.
Since 2011, he has devoted himself entirely to his artistic approach and has developed fruitful collaborations with major luxury houses in France and abroad: production of illustrations for the luxury candle house Baobab in Brussels, for the London perfumer Miller Harris, for the porcelain manufacturer Haviland.
For the Publishing department of Maison Hermès,
he regularly designs illustrations for invitations to new store openings. In 2014, with the faïencerie de Gien, he created the “Passion" decor and, more recently, the “Extraordinary Gardens" decor.
For the Jean-Philippe Nuel architecture studio, he signed in 2019 works reproduced in the lobby and rooms of the new Sofitel in Rome, but also in Paris in the rooms of the 5 Codet hotel.
Cyril Destrade regularly or more occasionally offers drawing, painting and watercolor lessons for a varied audience (individuals, institutions, and companies, in particular for events, and certain introductory or advanced courses).
“His techniques: acrylic, ink, watercolor and pigment on canvas and on paper. His trademark: resolute optimism. The line is spontaneous, the color palette transparent and lively at the same time. The intensity of the colors, the spontaneity of the almost choreographic expression stage a vegetal, liquid and luminous world which constantly oscillates between abstraction and narration.
