Presentation

Born in France, Christophe began with film photography.

Trained with Paul Hallenaud, he participated in several art exhibitions and offered works where he captured the essence of his subjects on an entirely manual Leïca camera.

Following several years of practice, from shooting to development, he quickly moved on to digital processing. It was at this time that he became a graphic designer within an international communication company.

After ten years of digital work, he felt the need to apprehend the material. In 2002, he decided to take night classes at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris and started painting. At the same time, he was also interested in new technologies and became a computer engineer.

Since then, his choice of expression has asserted itself over the course of his researches and he has turned to oil painting. Fond of sweets, the technique he will use for making his paintings imposes itself on him as obvious: he decides to express his vision of the modern world by diverting tools borrowed from the kitchen and mixing them with new technologies.

The artist develops his conceptual art by taking a gourmet look at the society around him. By playing on volumes and trompe l'oeil, his artworks inspire and question both our emotions and our sense of reality.

Christophe Sola is born on February 18th, 1975 in the south of France. He lives and works in Paris.
