Biography
JANUSZ PETRYKOWSKI (b. 1940, d. 2004)
He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1963-69). He received a degree in 1969 under the supervision of prof. Juliusz Studnicki. He participated in over 150 solo and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Sine 1985, he has created objects connecting painting, sculpture and installation. In the 1990s, he painted more personal paintings emphasizing the personal experiences associated with his daughter. The series was titled “Julia’s Gardens”. Simultaneously, he painted symbolical paintings and numerous nudes. In 1999 he received Talens Lifetime Achievement Award.
