Presentation

Enrique Brinkmann is a Spanish artist born 1938 in the same building where Pablo Picasso was born half a century earlier. Not so famous in France yet, he is considered as one of the greatest Spanish contemporary artist and one of the most originals.

A self taught painter and writer, in 1950 he started developing a singular and changing practice, mixing poetry of forms and abstraction of colors, between figuration and non-figuration. A painter of bodies and faces, he captivates with his fantastic bestiary and creates an spectacular synthesis of the Expressionism of the early century, surrealism and postmodern abstract research.

His work has been exhibited in some of the bigggest cities of Europe as well as in the group exhibition called "Spanish Art Tomorrrow" presented in New York and Washington in the beginning of the 80s.
