Sarah Morris

Born in 1967 in Sevenoaks, United Kingdom, Sarah Morris is an American filmmaker and painter. Having graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1988, Morris began her career as an assistant to the pop culture-inspired artist Jeff Koons, before producing her first artworks. The artist's oeuvre is deeply rooted in the commercialized style of the 1980s, and she has often referenced social mechanisms and urban life in America in her work.

To date, Morris' work has been exhibited across the globe, alongside some of the greatest contemporary artists. Some of her most notable solo exhibitions have taken place at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Fondation Beyeler in Basel, and Italy's Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna.
