David Akinola, born in Zaria in 1993 graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a B.A. in Industrial Design. His intricate illustrative works are often narratives of his conscious and subconscious mind - exploring the aesthetics of lines and colors through interest in femininity, architecture, psychology and music all influenced by Yoruba culture and tradition.
He is the pioneer artist to engage with the Revolving Art Incubator (RAI), an alternative and art incubation space in Lagos. Akinola lives and works in Lagos, where he continues to push the scale and boundaries of his art using pen, markers and oil.
