Biography

Mauricio Sapata has been a photographer since 2012.

He uses pinhole photography as a tool in authoral and educational projects. His main research is about historical photographic processes, such as Cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown and Salted Paper. 


His works seeks preservation and cultural rescue of practices and knowledges related to analog photography, such as Manual Colorization of black and white photographs.

In 2015, he started a project of the construction and use of a Camera Minutera entitled "Caixote Camera", and used it as an educational instrument for the rescue of photographic's historical techniques.
