Amélie Labourdette is a French artist who was born in 1974, she currently lives in Nantes. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and obtained numerous research and production scholarships.
In her photographic work, she focuses in the notion of territory and seeks to probe an "archeology of the present". She thus captures the landscapes under a collective prism but also through an individual angle. Her work is like the mirror of an era embellished by our imagination. Amélie Labourdette questions the notion of territory to be contructed, appropiated or to redefined artistically. She wants to reveal the different facets, identities and temporalities of the landscapes. Her work questions the aesthetic, fictional and documentary values.
Amélie Labourdette has participated in several exhibitions in France and abroad (United Kingdom, China, Georgia, Italy and Germany) her work is also part of several public and private collections. In 2016, she also won the Sony World Photography Awards Professional competition in the category of architecture, with his photographic collection called "Empire of Dust".
