French photographer born in 1945. Began his career in the 1960's.
One of the leading photographers of the French magazine "Salut les Copains", showcase of a whole generation (created in 1962 by Daniel Filipacchi) and of Hit Magazine until 1975. He then joined the agency Sygma-Corbis and collaborated with many magazines including Paris-Match, Gala, VSD… also answering the calls of major recording companies to create CD covers and posters of their artists.
As the appointed photographer of Johnny Hallyday for many years, Frank also took iconic photographs of famous faces such as Serge Gainsbourg, Michel Polnareff, Julien Clerc, Véronique Sanson and Eddy Mitchell. Tony Frank is considered the official photographer of recent decades of international pop and rock music and film, including Woody Allen, Louis Armstrong, Charles Aznavour, Nathalie Baye, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jane Birkin, James Brown, Ray Charles, Chèr, Dalida, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Bob Dylan, Marianne Faithfull, Claude François, JeanLuc Godard, Mick Jagger, Tom Jones, Madonna, Tina Turner, The Who, Sylvie Vartan and Frank Zappa - the list goes on.
