Catherine Le Derff dîte Rangde

Interested in the artistic field since childhood, Catherine Rangde did not start painting on canvas until retirement. She had more time and space. For a long time already she had been drawing, painting on silk, pottery and framing.

She has traveled to museums all over the world USA, Europe, Australia, Asia, not hesitating to travel to see this or that retrospective of a painter she particularly likes. Whether it's Egon Schiele in Bilbao, Vincent Van Gogh in Amsterdam, Modigliani in Milan, Lucian Freud in London, Miro and Picasso in Barcelona... Her artistic attraction is not confined to these artists alone. Matisse, Nicolas De Staël, Edward Hopper, Kees Von Dongen are also among her favourites.

Above all, she likes to paint color and light to compose landscapes, represent faces from her imagination or even show characters wandering in uncertain spaces... She draws a lot of inspiration from the photos taken with her phone during her walks and trips.
